Driving Experience Days: Everyone went through a fireman phase, right? Well now’s your
chance to live that dream and get behind the wheel of a mighty
Dennis RS Fire Engine. With a 10.6 litre 240bhp V8 Perkins diesel
engine, you’re guaranteed a driving day like no other!
Located in the picturesque town of Bicester, you’ll first
register for the experience before heading towards the mammoth fire
engine out on the track. The expert instructor accompanying you
will talk you through the controls, explaining what every button
does and how the firemen would operate the vehicle as a team – then
it’s your go! Sporting a pumping capacity of 4,500 litres per
minute and 8 miles per gallon, this truck will take a bit of
getting used to. Once you’re off however, there’s a max speed of
over 70mph, so these machines can really move! The experience will
end after around ten minutes of driving, leaving you with a huge
smile on your face – and an increased appreciation for the fire
service!
