Bird Of Prey Experience Days: Take part in this incredible 90-minute private hawk walk with
bird handling, and bridge the gap between man and bird! Your
private hawk walk will take place in picturesque woodland, with
your feathered friend flying up above you, before you meet an
incredible selection of other birds of prey. Your professional
instructor will be on hand to show you how to handle these amazing
creatures, and you’ll learn a lot along the way.
Your falconry experience will begin when you meet your guide at
their idyllic centre in rural Gateshead. Take a moment to absorb
the views, then it’s time for your introduction. Your qualified and
experienced instructor will give you a brief run-down of what to
expect from your experience. Next, you’ll meet your hawk for the
day. Harris Hawks are beautiful and dignified birds of prey
originating from Southwestern U.S., Chile, Argentina and Brazil,
and they’re well known for their sociable nature which makes them
the ideal walking partner for this falconry experience! You’ll walk
through the beautiful woodland with the hawk flying through the
trees above you, diving down onto your gloved hand for food as you
offer it to them. The hawk will amaze you with their forthcoming
nature, and you’ll amaze yourself as you form a friendship with
your new feathered companion. Next, you’ll meet a variety of birds
of prey, from other hawks to owls, falcons and eagles. Your
instructor will show you how to handle, fly and feed these birds,
so that by the end of the day, you’ll feel like a real falconer.

opportunities.
